MAYNOOTH, 10 September 2002: by Bill Trapman. The Bond Bridge and Meadowbrook Link projects are to go to tender before the end of September when the contract documents are completed.
County engineer Jimmy Lynch has advised Cllr John McGinley that county manager Niall Bradley will put a funding package before the full Council for approval, on receipt of tenders. Cllr McGinley believes that Councillors will approve the package as the previous Council had already approved the taking out of a loan for the Bond Bridge project as far back as 1998.
The Meadowbrook Link Road is also essential as it will take the Dublin/Rathcoffey traffic out of Main Street, thereby, making life much easier for all the people of Maynooth. If there are no further hold-ups this new road should be open by next summer.
