Call for Broomsday support

LEIXLIP 31 March 2003: Leixlip Town Council holds its annual Broomsday on 12 April and the council is asking all property owners to come out and clean outside their own premises and see what a difference that can make to the town.

"The Town Councillors will lead by example and we’ll be helping out in an area yet to be decided," says Cllr Paul Kelly, convenor of the Leixlip Integrated Waste Initiative, who also noted the success of the plastic bag levy which celebrated its first anniversary recently.

"It has also been successful in raising awareness of waste management issues and the part each one of us can play in reducing the amount of waste we produce,” he said.
