James Kevins, Monasterevin; Anne O'Byrne, Blessington; Michael Feeley, Mountmellick, chairman of Chapter Seven of the ILCU; and Pat Goulding, treasurer of Chapter Seven, ILCU.

20 May 2003: Presentations were made to two delegates at a Chapter Seven meeting of the Irish League of Credit Unions tonight to mark their election to senior positions in the league.

At the meeting held in Kilcullen Town Hall, Anne O'Byrne of Blessington CU was presented with Newbridge Silver jewellery because of her election as vice president of the league, the first woman in the history of the Irish League of Credit Unions to achieve that position.

And James Kevins of Monasterevin was also honoured for having been elected to the Standing Orders Committee of the league.

Michael Feeley, chairman of Chapter Seven, said he hoped that in two years' time they would be congratulating Anne on becoming president of the league.

There are 18 Credit Unions in Chapter Seven, from as far as Baltinglass, Mountmellick and Edenderry.
