28 May 2003: After a two year training programme, organised by the Staff themselves, staff members of St Patrick's Community College recently collected their ECDL computer training certificates from Caroline Curran of Intel.

The two-year training programme, held outside of school hours, was conducted by St Patrick's Community College IT Teacher John Roche.

All seven modules, Basic Concepts of IT, Using Computers and Managing files, Word Processing,  Spreadsheets, Dataases/Filing, Systems, Presentation & Drawing and Information Network Services were completed successfully.

Speaking at the presentation of the Certificates both P J Foster, Director of Adult Education, who was the driving force behind the initiative, and Tom Keegan Principal, St. Patrick's Community College, emphasised the value of what was learned on the course was already evident in the presentation of reports, notices, Examination Papers, and Teaching Presentations.
