KILDARE GENERAL, 12 September 2002: The kildare.ie website has been shortlisted for a Golden Spider Award 2002 in the Category “Best Community or Special Interest Award”. The Esat BT Golden Spider Awards recognise and reward excellence in the Irish Internet.
This is a major honour for the county portal website and shows it to be a leader in community website portal development in Ireland. It is the only county or town portal to be included in the shortlist this year.
This is the 6th Annual Irish Internet Awards Shortlist and in the past finalists and winners of the Esat BT Golden Spider Awards have proven to be Irish Internet Leaders. The Awards have a very strong business slant, but they are also the only awards to encourage the important community aspects of the Internet.
The Awards Ceremony will take place in the Burlington Hotel today, September 12th.
