KILDARE GENERAL, 3 September 2002: by Bill Trapman. New directors for County Kildare Fáilte were recently elected from the Trade industry. They are Seamus Moore, Naas Tidy Towns, Tidy Towns Director; Sean Byrne, Environmental Director; Anne Fitzpatrick, Naas Driving Range, Tourist Related Sports Director; Margaret O'Riordan, Ernest Shakleton Festival & Athy Heritage Centre, Festivals & Events Director; and Michelle Brown, The Ardenode Hotel, Hotel & Guesthouses Director.
This leaves one position on the Board vacant, that of Trade & Commercial Director.
County Kildare Fáilte has also recently finished its first year of Radio Advertising. On 2 separate occasions County Kildare was advertised on national Radio stations Radio 1 and Today FM. There was a wonderful response to these bursts of advertising, where brochures could be requested from the County Kildare Fáilte office. The first Radio Advertisement was in co-operation with 8 members of the Trade, while the second was funded solely by Kildare Failte and highlighted the wonderful holiday and day trip opportunities in Kildare.
This advertising will continue in the new year, with more opportunities for the Trade to participate in Joint Radio Advertising, among other exciting marketing projects in 2003.
