TV artist for Moone

26 August 2003: Charles Evans, the Tyne Tees Television Artist, is coming to Castledermot on Monday September 8th to give a light-hearted Introduction to Watercolours and Watercolour Painting. The event takes place at Colaiste Lorcáin at 8pm. Anyone can attend.

Charles Evans is on a Special Tour of Ireland sponsored by Daler-Rowney, the Art Suppliers but Timolin's Pat Ryall who spearheaded the Villages 2003 Super Tidy Towns Effort tripped him up and diverted him to South County Kildare to tell us what it is like to paint watercolours, what talents you may need and a lot of tips on how to get started and impress the impressionable.

Charles' Diary reads like a pop group's non stop tour. This year alone he has lectured in 37 cities in England, led a painting Holiday in Tuscany and after his Irish Tour heads the Highlands of Scotland and Newport in Wales. This is in addition to his regular appearances on Tyne Tees T.V.

Timolin-Moone Tidy Towns Committee suggest that you make it a night out. It’s the beginning of Autumn so you can have a last fling before the dark nights are upon us. Get a group together and meet Charles, find out whether you might achieve that dream of becoming an artist and, if convinced, there will still be time to sign up for a VEC course across the winter.

It will cost only E10 for the Castledermot evening whereas in Dublin, Limerick and elsewhere on the tour it could be up to E30 for the same evening of encouragement to join in the art of Art. And all the proceeds will go to help pay for the Tidy Towns Efforts in the two villages this year. Pat set a target to up the points by at least 25 in each.

Tickets are limited and are available at Moone Post Office, at The Pewtermill Timolin and if you are in an Art Club contact Pat Ryall at 0507 24164. You can also phone 0507 24164 or 087 9090044 to order tickets or to find out the nearest source.
