Motion to take apartments in charge

NAAS, 16 September 2002: The local authority-built Riverview Apartments on New Row in Naas should now be taken under control by Naas Town Council. That’s the view of local Cllr Charlie Byrne who has tabled a motion to that effect for the September meeting of the authority.

Cllr Byrne said not all residents have refuse collection bins and so leave their rubbish out beside other peoples’ bins, and this is attracting rodents to the area.

“The situation is also causing problems for those who do have bins and use them,” he added.

Cllr Byrne said as well as solving the refuse problem, the Council should also cut the grass areas outside the building (below).
