Supporters brave the rain for Newbridge parade

NEWBRIDGE, 17 March 2002: by Brian Byrne. It rained on their parade, but that didn't stop many hundreds of Newbridge people young and old coming out to see their annual St Patrick's Day Parade.

The event is the key parade in the county for the national saint's day, and was supported by the Army, Fire Service, local sports and community organisations, and a wide selection of local businesses. A notable feature of the event was the number of children and young people who took part.

The parade was reviewed by local politicans and their guests, including Newbridge town councillors (below). A full Picture Gallery can be viewed here.
