Town Council website relaunched

23 May 2003: Naas Town Council has relaunched its website with a number of improvements. It will become a one-stop-shop for information on the Council’s activities and on Naas Town.

It can be found at kildare.ie/naastowncouncil and people will be able to access it from all over the world.

The revamped site was warmly welcomed by Town Councillors at a recent meeting. It will become a tool to keep the public informed on Council matters and to assist business and tourism.

The site will be constantly updated and will include information on services, agendas and minutes of public meetings, planning issues and decisions, roads, pay parking, business, surveys, information on local schools, accommodation, the environment, even what plays are on in the new Moat Theatre.

The 1999 Town Development Plan is also on the website. Submissions will be accepted on a specific e-mail address in relation to the upcoming Town Development Plan. A search engine is now available to search for information.

However, the minutes of Naas Town Council meetings will not appear on the website until they are approved by councillors at their next monthly meeting.

The website will be managed by Kevin Kelly and Mark ... of the IT Department in Kildare County Council.

Town councillors were full of praise for their new information website saying it will be ‘a tremendous asset’ for the town and Naas town clerk Declan Kirrane said the website will ‘facilitate greater public interaction with the Council’.

Mayor Timmy Conway said ‘it was a great night for us, finally launching our website’.
