Ideas for Naas parade from mid-America

OMAHA, 17 March 2002: by Brian Byrne. Wille Callaghan says taking part in Omaha's 'electrifying' St Patrick's Day Parade has given him some ideas for the Easter Parade he organises in Naas every year (below).

He was speaking after the event, in which he led as joint Grand Master of the parade with Omaha mayor Mike Fahey, the morning after the two men had signed a twinning agreement under the auspices of the Sister Cities. The twinning was promoted by the Fr Flanagan chapter of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, of which the Omaha mayor is a member.

Meanwhile, a group of Omahans will return the visit to Naas in July. The Irish group leaves for home next Wednesday.
