Photo call from Library

30 August 2003: A call for old photographs of Naas and its people has been made by the Kildare Library & Arts Service as part of a project for a new publication.

The project for a photographic publication compiled to reflect the local social history of the Naas area, including Kill, Johnstown and Sallins, is a joint operation with the Kildare Local Studies Department of Kildare County Council, and the local history groups of Naas and Kill.

The project is looking for the loan of photographs taken between 1880-1980, preferably of ‘local characters’.

The headquarters of the initiative is Naas Community Library, who will scan the photographs as soon as they are brought in and will return the originals to the owners within one week.
