Celbridge athlete to compete in Birmingham

CELBRIDGE 13 March 2003: Kildare's David McCarthy competes in the World Indoor Athletics championship at the weekend in Birmingham.

The 19-year-old 400 metre runner will run in both the individual event and the 4 by 400m relay.The Irish Indoor record stands at 46.34 seconds; the Celbridge AC athlete has an indoor best of 46.66 seconds, in his present form he should at a minimum set a new personal best at the World Indoors.
