Education renages on school promise

16 May 2003: School Authorities in Sallins have now been informed that the Minister for Education will provide only one extra prefab class room for the next school year. They have been told by the Minister to use the school gym as a second temporary classroom.

Not alone is the Minister not providing for the permanent 16 classroom school deemed by his Department to be essential for Sallins, he is now refusing to provide even the temporary prefabs required in September this year.

In May of 2002 and before the General Election, Fianna Fail promised to provide the new school.
