Liffey sewerage concerns

15 July 2003: A motion on concerns about sewerage spills into the River Liffey in recent weeks will be moved by a new member of Kildare County Council, Kevin Byrne, at the next Celbridge Area Committee Meeting.

Mr Byrne will replace Deputy Emmet Stagg, who has resigned from the Council under the new dual mandate regulations.

Members of the Salmon Leap Canoe Club have complained about the spills, which appear to emanate from the pumping stations at Castletown and Primrose Hill in Celbridge.
