Cauvery Madhavan was born in India and moved to Ireland thirty-three years ago. She is the author of three books of fiction: Paddy Indian (2000, Penguin, BlackAmber), The Uncoupling (2002, Penguin, BlackAmber) and her latest, The Tainted, published by HopeRoad in the UK, Ireland and the USA and by Speaking Tiger in India, Dec 2020. The Tainted has been critically acclaimed, with Sebastian Barry calling it a 'wonderful story written by a wonderful writer'. It was picked by An Post Irish Book Awards as one of their Top 5 Summer Reads. Cauvery has written for The Irish Times, The Irish Independent, Evening Herald, the Sunday Tribune, The Phoenix and Travel Extra. She lives with her husband and three children in County Kildare. She is a free-range pig keeper, an enthusiastic gardener and a golfer with poorly-realised ambitions. She is currently working on her fourth novel.
