Pauline Clooney is a native of County Laois but has lived in Kildare for over 35 years. In July 2016, Pauline established the Kildare Writing Centre in County Kildare of which she is director and course facilitator. Pauline has wrote several short stories and novels. Many of her short stories have gained recognition. Pauline's work has been included in Anthologies in both Ireland and the United Kingdom such as: The 2017 Ireland's Own Anthology of Short Stories, the RTE Guide and and HCE Review. Her work has gained recognition in the following competitions: Shortlisting The RTE Guide/Penguin Ireland Short Story Competition, the Doolin Short Story Competition , The Hennessy New Irish Writing in Association with The Irish Times. Longlisted: Colm Tóibín Short Story Competition, the Fish Publishing International Short Story Prize.
