Town Twinning

Introduction

Twinning can be defined as a friendship agreement involving co-operation between towns/communities in different countries, supported by both local authorities. Projects and activities are arrranged between the twinned
towns/communities to explore historical, cultural, educational, sporting and other similarities and differences. Twinning provides an opportunity for a wide range of community members to get involved in economic development,
arranging school exchanges, sporting events, cultural programmes, hosting visitors from twinned communities etc.
