Naas Town Council provides fund for Enterprise & Innovation Projects.

Naas Town Council has provided for a fund of 100,000 in its budget for 2012 towards enterprise and innovation projects. The intention of this fund is to facilitate applications to the Town Council for funding of projects that will help promote and develop the town.

Cllr. Willie Callaghan, Mayor of Naas, in announcing the scheme at the council's annual civic awards ceremony in Naas Town Hall, said he welcomed all applications, and hoped to see projects coming through which would noticeably help all business sectors in Naas.

Cllr. Callaghan said with the engagement of businesses in Naas along with Naas Town Council,"we can all work together to help promote and assist business in Naas" and he looked forward to working with the business sector to promote commerce in the town.

Organisations intending to submit a project funding proposal are invited to submit an expression of interest/business case to Naas Town Council. Applicants must demonstrate that the project is in the business/commercial field and that adequate overall finance is available to fund the project. They should also establish that they possess the management, technical and operational capacity to implement the proposed project.  Most significantly, it should be clear how the project will contribute towards the promotion  and development of the town of Naas and how it will maintain  and enhance business in the town.

General conditions for financial assistance

Organisations intending to submit a project funding proposal must submit an expression of interest/business case to Naas Town Council.

Applicants must demonstrate:

•         That the project is in the business/commercial field and is viable for implementation    without ongoing Exchequer assistance.

•         How the project will contribute towards the promotion and development of the town of    Naas

•          That adequate overall finance is available to fund the project, and there is evidence of investment by the applicant

•          That the applicant possesses the management, technical and operational capacity to implement the proposed project.

•          That the applicant organisation has a formal decision-making structure (e.g. a board of directors)  which can take legal responsibility for the administration and use of aid funds if application is successful.

•          That the project complies with all industry standards, statutory and local authority requirements etc (e.g. tax, health & safety, planning, procurement procedures, etc)

Except where agreed with Naas Town Council, projects will not be considered where the grant  would be expected to be below €20,000.  The fund is not intended to directly support retail outlets, or to replace any other state funding mechanisms. Works commenced prior to grant approval will not be considered for grant purposes. Expenditure must be in accordance with the application as approved by the Council. Payments will be made on receipt of valid invoices from the applicant together with supporting documentation (e.g. details of vouched expenditure). Grantees should note that Naas Town Council Ireland may itself carry out an audit check on the component parts of a grant claim before passing it for grant payment.

Following approval of an application by the elected members of Naas Town Council, a Letter of Offer will be issued by the council to the successful applicant.

CHRISTMAS TREE RECYCLING

Naas Town Council wishes to advise that Christmas Tree Recycling (Shredding) will take place on Saturday 7^th January 2012 and Wednesday 11^th January 2012 at the following locations:

Adjacent to Monread District Park Car Park -        9:00am to 12:00 noon

Adjacent to Fairgreen Car Park –                            2:00pm to 5:00pm
