Bank Holiday Weekend in Athy

Bank Holiday Weekend in Athy

Trad Athy and Dragon Boat Festival - 1st weekend in May

TradAthy is a celebration of Irish Session Music and its heritage in Athy. The festival is open to all musicians, singers and dancers to join us to promote Irish music in Athy for this the year of the Gathering.

The festival originated from Clancy’s music sessions which are the longest running trad session in Ireland, running without a break for the last 47 years. They run every Thursday. This year we are welcoming people as part of “The Gathering” from all over Ireland and England.

Special guest artists this year are musicians from DANU and TEADA. We have concerts including an album launch by local tin whistle player Brian Hughes and dancers for the four days over the bank holiday. We welcome everyone to join us over the May bank holiday weekend.
