Kildare School wins Gold at World Irish Dance Championships

Kildare School Murphy Gray Academy of Irish Dance brought an amazing 10 World Championship Globes back to Kildare.

Courtney Woods from Caragh was crowned u/18 World Champion 2019, Ellen Gray from Clane placed 4th in the u/21 World Championship and Gemma Brennan from Coill Dubh placed 5th in the u/10 World Championship. The Kildare school were also crowned u/12 Four Hand World Champions, u/12 Ceili World Champions and Overall Team World Champions.

WIDA World Championships took place over four days in Eindhoven and was attended by competitors from  28 countries. 

WIDA, the organisation who held the event is one of numerous Irish Dance federations that held World Irish Dance Championships this Easter.

"WIDA, which is a relatively new organisation founded only in 2004, which currently includes over 150 schools in 28 countries, it prides itself on its friendly and welcoming culture where competition stays on the dance floor, off the dance floor every dancer, parent and teacher are part of the WIDA family with a shared love for Irish Dance"

This year the Murphy Gray Academy of Irish Dance made the best memories surrounded by wonderful friends.
