75,000 extra funding for small businesses in Kildare

Need for Additional Funding shows start up spirit is alive and well

Fine Gael TD for Kildare South, Martin Heydon, has welcomed the allocation of an additional €75,000 to Kildare County Enterprise Board as part of a national allocation to fund job creation projects in the remaining months of 2011.

Deputy Heydon stated “If we are to get out of this crisis, it is crucial that we strive in every way possible to encourage the start-up and expanding businesses that will create the jobs of the future. The County and City Enterprise Boards around the country have a key role to play in providing much-needed capital for these businesses”

"The additional funding is provided from savings elsewhere in the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation and is provided in response to requests from specific county enterprise boards who are experiencing additional demand for their services and have identified specific projects where jobs will be created." Deputy Heydon explained

Deputy Heydon stated "I am delighted that Kildare County Enterprise Board has been included in today’s announcement of funding.  It is hoped that up to 19 direct jobs can be created in Kildare through the allocation of this funding.  It is very encouraging that there is sufficient demand from start up projects in Kildare for this request and I wish them well."

Heydon continued "the County Enterprise Boards are at the coal face of encouraging and supporting small local businesses in start up or expansion phases and I am delighted that the Government has been able to source the funds to provide them with the additional supports they need to continue that good work"
