Mr. Deegan and Miss Williams are coaching camogie skills this term. Pupils from senior classes are invited to participate. The team had their first Cumann na mBunscol League Match on Monday, April 25th, 2016. With 2 great goals, St. Evin's Girls gained a victory over the visiting school. Well done to the team for representing Scoil Eimhín Naofa so well.

In 2014 Miss Finlay and Mr. McCormack first began training Third and Fourth Class Pupils in the skills of Camogie. This was a new venture for St. Evin's School and the girls were very excited about pioneering this sport in our school. We fundraised to cover the costs of providing hurleys and helmets for the girls. This was an initial investment which will benefit many children in years to come as we expect to expand the training and work towards developing a school camogie team to represent the school at Cumann namBunscol competitions in the future. No doubt we will find some serious talent among our pupils who have already established themselves as excellent footballers and basketball players over the years.

Many thanks to local businesses who have already sponsored some of the equipment.

On May 23rd 2015 the pupils and teachers participated in a school fundraiser by wearing a sports jersey to school. We were asked to make a small contribution to a sports fund for the purchase of helmets and hurleys for the pupils in our school.

A demonstration camogie match was held in the school on Friday, June 20th. We were delighted to see how skilled the players were in such a short training period.
