The season of Christmas was a wonderful celebration in St. Evin's School. The large-sized crib was set up in the main entrance hall, the tree was lit up alongside, and all the children engaged in painting and constructing Christmas decorations, Christmas cards and Christmas artwork in the classrooms.
Perhaps the highlights of the season were the Nativity Plays. Christmas 2018 was the turn of First to Sixth Class Pupils to perform their Christmas Nativity Shows for the whole-school audience and for parents and families. The excitement was palpable as each child took to the stage and enthusiastically gave their best performance. A huge amount of work and time went into the planning, rehearsing, costume and prop arrangements and learning of songs, dances and lines. It was worth it all as the standard was exceedingly high and the audiences were thrilled with the shows. Next Christmas we can look forward to the Infant Classes performing for us.
And lastly, on Friday, December 21st we had our whole-school Carol Service. The entire school community came together for this beautiful Carol Service, and Mr. Costello wished us all the blessings of Christmas and a good rest! To the children's delight Santa made a special visit to every classroom where he gave each child a little treat and listened to their requests. Many thanks to the Parents' Council for arranging and funding his visit.
