Congratulations to our Second Class pupils who received the Sacrament of First Eucharist on Saturday, April 23rd, 2016, in what proved a beautiful Church Ceremony.  We thank class teachers, Mrs. Cullen and Miss Melia, for all of their hard work and preparation throughout the year and for the manner in which the girls participated in Saturday’s ceremony.  We thank our Fourth Class choir which sang so beautifully under the guidance of Miss Corr and Miss Williams.  Our Parents’ Council organized treats and refreshments for all children and adults involved on the day and once again, this proved a great success.

On the day before the First Communion we held a lovely ceremony in the school. All the teachers and pupils gathered together in the school hall to wish the First Communicants well on their special day. We said special prayers for them and sang some of the lovely Alive-O songs that were also sung by the choir at the First Eucharist Mass. This special occasion was co-ordinated by Mrs. Naughton and Miss Cleary. The Senior Infant pupils presented the ceremony and made the second class girls feel very special as they sat on the stage before the whole school community. Mr. Costello thanked all the teachers and pupils who put so much effort into the presentation.
