On May 13th, 2013 Minister for Education and Skills, Mr. Ruairķ Quinn paid a formal visit to St. Evin's School. He was warmly welcomed by Mr. Costello and  a group of pupils who formed a small welcome party on his arrival. The Chairperson of the Board of Management, Tom Fitzgerald, and the Chairperson of the Parents' Council, John O' Rourke were also present to meet with the minister, as was Parish Priest, Fr. Liam Merrigan, and some local politicians.

The purpose of Mr. Quinn's visit was to witness in person the need for investment in primary education in Monasterevin. He assured us that he is committed to supporting the strategy for future development. The minister's schedule also included a visit to St. Peter's Boys' Primary School and St. Paul's Secondary School.

We were delighted that Mr. Quinn had time to visit some classrooms, meet with a number of our pupils and share a cup of coffee with all the staff at morning break.
