The National Day of Prayer for Children was first launched in 2007 and school support has grown year on year. The celebration, which is warmly supported by the Bishops of Ireland, teaches children the value of prayer during Mission Month with child friendly resources.

In 2017, The National Day of Prayer for Children was held in October.

Mr. Costello. Ms. French and a group of Third Class pupils attended the national prayer gathering in Carlow Cathedral which was hosted by Bishop Denis Nulty. During the ceremony the Bishop specifically thanked St. Evin's School for their generosity towards the missions over many years. We are , in fact, the highest contributing primary school in the diocese.

It was a lovely service of prayer and song in celebration of Missionary Children all over Ireland. A pupil from our school was invited to light the candles on the altar and they were all given some refreshments and a mission rosary beads to take home.
