On Monday, October 21st 2018, our school was thrilled to host the RTE Lyric FM Quartet as part of their outreach tour. The concept behind this programme is "Life-long learning: listen, engage, enjoy." The performance was indeed thoroughly enjoyed by the pupils who listened to the wonderful music and engaged enthusiastically with the four musicians; Evelyn on flute, Mary on violin, Jean on concert harp and Gerry on cello. It was a wonderful opportunity to see the fabulous instruments and listen to live instrumental music in our own school hall. The quartet even played some singalong tunes that the children could join in with. Sonya, our school violin teacher was delighted to be entertained for the afternoon also, as Monday is her busy day when she provides tuition for First, Second, Third and Fourth Classes.
