A new Athy Comhaltas Group is being established to celebrate and promote traditional music in South Kildare.
Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Irish traditional music.
It is a success throughout the world and Athy Comhaltas is the only group in South Kildare.
The Launch will see Athy Comhaltas Group formally introduced and explained to the public.
The South Kildare area is awash with many amazing Irish musicians and the aim of the group is to provide affordable lessons in Athy by professional teachers
Please support this local voluntary initiative to promote Irish culture and language in our community and bring your children down and enjoy the atmosphere in Athy Library

Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann is the primary organisation dedicated to the promotion of the music, song, dance and the language of Ireland. The organisation, which has 400 branches worldwide, is responsible for organising the annual national Irish music festival and competition called the Fleadh Cheoil.
