Historic Structures Fund (HSF) 2021

The HSF 2021 is open for applications.
There are 4 streams of funding available, please see below for details.
Valid applications only will be assessed for nomination to the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage (D H, LG & H) who will determine the successful grants.

Stream 1 - grants from €15,000 up to €50,000 aimed at essential repairs and smaller capital works for the refurbishment and conservation of protected structures.
3 applications can be nomination to the D H,L.G & H

Stream 2 - grants from €50,000 up to €200,000 for larger enhancement, refurbishment or reuse projects involving protected structures, where a clear community or public benefit has been demonstrated.
1 privately owned and 1 publicly owned structure can be nominated to the D. H, LG & H

Pilot Stream for Vernacular Structures - a pilot stream for vernacular structures with funding of €50,000 nationally, for conservation repairs and small capital works to vernacular structures that are not listed in local authority Records of Protected Structures or otherwise legally protected. Such structures may be located within an Architectural Conservation Area, privately owned or in community ownership. Funding for eligible projects is between €5,000 and €10,000.
1 structure can be nominated to the D. H, LG & H.

Pilot Stream for Historic Shopfronts - for eligible essential repairs and small capital works for the refurbishment and conservation of historic shop facades, windows, signage and other associated details to safeguard them and keep them in use.
1 application will be nominated to the D H,L.G. & H

Late addition;

Pilot Stream for Historic Irish Language Shopfronts - for essential repairs and small capital works for the refurbishment and conservation of historic irish language shop facades, windows, signage and other associated details.

Valid applications must include;

Completed Application form.
Method statement for proposed works from suitably qualified conservation professional
Photographic report of existing structure
Quotation for the proposed works
Tax Clearance certificate for applicant

All works will be inspected prior to payment of grants to ensure best conservation methods have been used.
All grants are paid by electronic bank transfer so applicants will have to supply their bank details at payment stage.
