Kildare Local enterprise Office Restart road show and Restart Grant 19/05/2020

Kildare County Councils Enterprise Office have launched a programme for businesses across all 5 Municipal Districts in the retail and hospitality sector in Kildare. The programme will feature retail champion Bobby Kerr and hospitality champion James Burke and focuses on the impacts COVID 19 is having on this sector and the process of reopening in line with the government guidelines.

The Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation Restart Grant fund will provide between €2,000 and €10,000 for eligible businesses of all sizes.

It is a direct grant for micro and small businesses aimed at contributing towards the costs of re-opening, keeping businesses operational and for re-connecting with employees and customers. The grant can be used to defray ongoing fixed costs, for replenishing stock and for measures needed to ensure employee and customer safety

To avail of the grant Businesses must:

  1. Have an annual turnover of less than €5m and employ between 1 to 50 people;
  2. Have closed and/or suffered a projected 25%+ loss in turnover to end June 2020; (evidence required to be confirmed)
  3. Commit to remain open or to reopen if it was closed;
  4. Declare the intention to retain employees that are on the Temporary Wage Subsidy Scheme (TWSS) and to reemploy staff on the Pandemic Unemployment Payment where applicable. (evidence required to be confirmed)

Applications open on May 22nd, further details from the Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation will follow.
