Grants for works to Protected Structures 2021
Kildare County Council in conjunction with the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage is inviting applications for conservation projects for buildings contained on the Record of Protected Structures (RPS) or in Architectural Conservation Areas (ACA) within County Kildare. Schemes operate on a match funding basis.
Built Heritage Investment Scheme 2021
The scheme will support small scale, labour intensive conservation projects. The minimum level of funding awarded will be €2,500 up to a maximum of €15,000 per application.
BHIS Routine Maintenance and Minor Repairs
A scheme for works of routine maintenance and minor repairs to Protected Structures costing less than €2,000.
Historic Structures Fund 2021
Stream 1 grants from €15,000 - €50,000 aimed at essential repairs and smaller capital works for the refurbishment and conservation of heritage structures.
Stream 2 a smaller number of grants from €50,000 to €200,000 for larger enhancement, refurbishment or reuse projects involving heritage structures, where a clear community or public benefit is demonstrated.
Pilot Stream for Vernacular Structures - conservation repairs/small capital works to vernacular structures that are not listed in the RPS or otherwise legally protected. Such structures may be located within an ACA, privately owned or in community ownership.
Pilot Stream for Historic Shopfronts - eligible essential repairs/small capital works for the refurbishment and conservation of historic shop facades, windows and signage.
