Kildare County Council is delighted to announce the winners of the ‘This is My Kildare!’ photography competition. Primary School (4 – 12 yr olds) and Secondary School (13 – 19 yr olds) entrants were invited to submit photographs which depict what they love about County Kildare, and what makes it special to them – a favourite place, building, activity, view etc.
The winning entry in the 4-12 age group was Iarla O’Rourke who captured poignant images of Pollardstown Fen and The Canal. Ruadhan Gorry’s images of a sunset over the Bog & Church caught the judges’ eye and earned him second place in the same age group.
In the 13 – 19 age group, Frankie Doyle claimed first prize with his vibrant image of the Curragh Plains. Second place went to Nuarah Binti Hasrizal for a fun image of a horse!
The winning shots along with all the other 300 entries will be displayed for the public later in the year, coinciding with the publication of the Draft County Development Plan 2023 – 2029.
Thank you to all those who took the time to enter and reminding us all why Kildare is the most beautiful County in Ireland.
