The penultimate event of the 2009 championship for modified road cars will provide the days competitive action ,supported by a full programme of Drifting practice. The Time-Attack event takes place on the Mondello Park national circuit while the drifting will make use of the shorter intermediate track.

Sunday’s timetable sees the Time-Attack competitors on track for morning practice followed by two qualifying sessions and the all important Final. This time around the final will be an open pit lane session allowing drivers to complete as many laps as they wish in search of that single best lap that will count towards the results. With entries still coming in a field of around twenty cars, including some new ones, is expected.

At the head of the Pro championship, Mitsubishi Evo drivers Brendan Stone and Brian Sexton are locked together on 43 points just three ahead of Robbie Thornthon's with his Skyline. Martin Tracey is next up having campaigned both an Evo and an RS500 Sierra Cosworth. The Pro class will feature some added variety this weekend with the arrival of Jeffrey Healy's Honda Civic and James Hughes debuting a new Honda Integra.

The club division has seen the on-form Dean Reilly, with his Civic, overtake Neil Dunne and Keith Quille at the head of the field and he now looks odds-on to take the title as Dunne has struggled lately, suffering mechanical problems with his Nissan. Having missed the previous round Quille will once again be missing as he awaits the completion of his new car having sold his previous Civic.

Adult Admission is €10.00 with accompanied under 16’s admitted free. Family tickets are also available for €20.00.
