The third annual show takes place on June 20th, with continued support from the IVVCC, and this year’s feature will be a celebration of 100 years of Alfa Romeo.

Classic Car Live is the only Irish Classic Car Show to feature Classic and Vintage vehicles in motion with high speed track sessions, low speed parade laps and Historic and Vintage Car race demonstrations keeping the Kildare circuit busy for the entire show. Despite the 'Live' tag the more traditional show components are most definitely not forgotten, with the show retaining a huge element of car and car club displays, trade sites and auto jumblers in its mix, making it a must for all Classic Car enthusiasts. The show falls on Fathers day this year making it an ideal present for dads everywhere.

Last year the show focussed on the 50th anniversary of the Mini with a huge gathering of various examples of the British classic filling a large area of the Mondello Park paddock. This year the theme switches to Alfa Romeo, to celebrate one hundred years of this Italian thoroughbred and it is hoped that the largest gathering of Alfa's ever seen in Ireland will be assembled for the show.

In terms of quantity and quality of cars on display, 'Classic Car Live' is already one of the strongest exhibitions on the calendar. Easy access, an all tarmac display area and no delays on leaving the venue, make for a very user-friendly environment in which to display or view Classic Cars. Add in the facility for owners to get on track for either performance or touring laps and Mondello Park’s Classic Car Live becomes even more attractive, particularly to those drivers who do not wish to take their cars on the road as the event provides them with an annual opportunity to drive their pride and joy.

While Classic Car Clubs and individual owners provide most of the show displays, one area which always interests show visitors is an opportunity to view up close some of Irelands best Classic and Vintage racing machines. The drivers of the Historic Racing Car Association (HRCA) always put on an excellent display of cars from both the pre 1979 Historic championship and the pre 1955 Vintage racing class. These cars can not only be seen up close in the pits and paddock, but will also take to the track for a number of demonstration races during the show, providing a unique chance to experience the sights and sounds of racing from days gone by.

Tom Heavey Editor of Irish Vintage Scene Magazine says “we are delighted to be associated with this unique event, this year promises to be a great day out and a special Fathers’ Day”. Tickets for Classic Car Live which takes place from 11:00 till 17:00 on Sunday June 20th are now available from the Mondello Park web site, or can be purchased on the day of the event. Bookings are also being taken for classic car exhibits and classic related trade stands. For information see www.mondellopark.ie or contact 045-860200.
