The OPW Castletown team with kind permission of Athy Heritage Centre Museum is hosting a very special event to celebrate Culture Night.
'Shackleton's Endurance' recounts Ernest Shackleton's 1914-1916 epic expedition to Antartica. The expedition became one of the greatest survival stories ever told.
On stage, Brian Hughes, composer/uilleann pipes, Craig Blackwell, graphics, Karl Ronan, narrative, accompanied by County Kildare Orchestra strings and Monasterevin Gospel Choir male singers and guest artists, will perform the original work commissioned by Athy Heritage Centre Museum, to mark the centenary of the expedition.
