A re-enactment of a scene from the Rising

The event will commence with a reading of the Proclamation at the Fr. Edward Prendergast monument in Monasterevin by children from local schools. A parade will move from this point down the Main Street to the Community Centre where a re-enactment of a scene from the Rising will take place; it will be based on the events that took place at the South Dublin Union. The aim is to highlight the involvement of Monasterevin people in the Rising. Lasting records of the centenary will be presented to local schools.
