Pieta House fundraising and awareness event
The Maynooth Darkness into Light committee will hold a launch event at the Maynooth University Library on Tuesday, 12th April, at 7:00pm.
Members of the media are invited to a 6:45pm photo call outside the library.
Taking place on Saturday, May 7th, Darkness Into Light is a unique, early morning experience which begins in darkness at 4.15am, when thousands of people walk or run a 5km route while dawn is breaking.
The event benefits Pieta House, a suicide and self-harm crisis centre. While Darkness Into Light raises much needed funds, it is also about awareness, solidarity and local communities.
Last year was the first Darkness into Light event held in Maynooth, drawing an estimated 4,000 people and raising more than €50,000.
