Flame of Hope Torch Run

The flame for the 2003 Special Olympics World Games will be carried by the Garda Siochana and the Police Service of Northern Ireland to over 120 towns and cities throughout the island of Ireland.

Only 5 members of the Garda Siochana have been selected to represent the country and the people of Naas are very proud that Garda Derek Gallagher of the Telecommunications Section of Naas Garda Station has been selected to run in the final leg of the Torch Run. The Torch Run will arrive in Kildare on Friday, 20 June.
