Charleton Avenue, Newbridge

A large number of old friends at Newbridge were pleased to see Capt. Ernest Charleton with Mrs. Charleton amongst them during the past week. Capt. Charleton who went through the entire war in France, is son of the late Mr. Peter Charleton who was a member of the Newbridge Town Commissioners and the Naas District Council, took such a practical interest in everything tending to the welfare of Newbridge and its people for many years.  The late Mr. Charleton took a special interest in the housing question, with the result that he built a very fine avenue midway between the town and the railway station which bears his name as Charleton Avenue.
