DEATH OF PETER COUGHLAN, NAAS

On Sunday last an old man named Peter Coughlan was found dead in bed at his residence, Rathasker Road, Naas. He had been working as usual on Saturday and his death was entirely unexpected. Medical opinion showed that death was due to natural causes. Deceased was an old soldier and since the outbreak of the war had been employed in a civil capacity at the Naas Depot. On Monday the remains were interred with full military honours at the New Cemetery, the firing party and band being supplied by the Royal Dublin Fusiliers, deceased’s old regiment. A large concourse of people accompanied the funeral.
