Rathangan Women’s Day

The women of Rathangan Parish held their meeting and procession on Sunday evening last. In a downpour of rain the procession, consisting of considerably over 300 women, marched from the Convent Grounds, through the principle streets and back to the Church where Rosary and Benediction were given. Afterwards the Pledge against Conscription was signed by over 500 women. A banner bearing the words ‘Death Before Conscription’ was carried before the procession.
