On the 7th October 2016 at 7pm In Athy Heritage Centre – Museum, a Vino de Honor – Wine Reception, will be hosted by the Chilean Naval Defence Attache of the Chilean Embassy in Ireland, Mr. Ronald Baasch.
The reception will be followed by a lecture by the distinguished Chilean Naval historian Dr Fernando Wilson on the rescue of Shackleton’s men from Elephant Island by Commander Pardo and the Chilean Navy.
