WAR NOTES 

Private Christopher Flynn, aged 32 years, a native of Reban, Co. Kildare, who joined the Irish Guards on 1st November, 1915, has been killed in action in France on the 11th August. News also has reached his family that his brother, Patrick Flynn, aged 22 years, who joined the Dublin Fusiliers on the same date, was killed also in action on the 11th August; both brothers fell in action on the same day. Corporal Patrick Flynn was through several engagements and got wounded twice. Both brothers were members of the Churchtown Irish National Volunteers and belonged to the farming community, and much regret is extended to their bereaved family. The deceased boys were very popular in the district.
