On Thursday 10th of May we will be holding a Birdsong Workshop hosted by Niall Tierney of BirdWatch Ireland. We hope this will be a fun, interactive event.
Niall will start us off with an introduction to Birdsong and then we will break down into smaller groups and study ten common birds' songs and calls.
This is a great event for beginners as recognising birdsong can be a great help in picking out those birds you can't see when out birding.
We'll discuss diagnostic features of songs and ways of remembering which song is which. Groups will include those who are experienced and beginners so we can all learn from one another, so whether you are a beginner or experienced birder please come along.
After the workshop we'll have a fun group competition to see what we've learned! It'll be a great precursor to our May outdoor events where you can put your new skills to the test. We'll be providing tea and coffee at the workshop.
