A History of the D-Day Landings – 6 June 1944 with Paul McDonald

Tuesday 31st May at 7pm

This lecture provides a historical overview of Operation Overlord, the airborne and amphibious Allied landing operations on 6th June 1944 in Normandy, France.  The D-Day landings were the largest seaborne invasion in history and the resulting Battle of Normandy was a key battle of World War Two.  The Allied military landings paved the way to the liberation of Western Europe from Nazi occupation and heralded the beginning of the end of the Second World War.
