Co.Kildare Federation of Local History Groups

The County Kildare Federation of Local History Groups was formed in 1999 in order to optimise the resources of local groups.

Fostering communications, exchanging ideas, and generally raising the awareness of local history groups within the county are all part of the remit of the Co.Kildare Federation. The federation was also formed to represent local history groups on relevant county committees and associations.

The federation also hosts an annual seminar in September with a guest speaker. Delegates from the member groups present the popular ‘Society Speak’ segment of the Annual Seminar allowing member groups and individuals to tell those present about their current activities and projects.

Kildare has more than twenty local history groups and societies, most of which are members of the federation. Details of these groups' regular meetings, as well as their contact information, can be found through the federation's website.
