Poor Law Unions
THE ATHY UNION is situated partly in the county of Kildare, and partly in Queen's county; it contains an area of 160,256 statute acres, and a population of 37,671. The valuation of property rated in the Union amounts to £98,055. There are 38 Electoral Divisions, represented by 29 elected, and 20 ex-officio Guardians. The Workhouse was opened in January, 1844, and affords accommodation or 990 inmates. The Board of Guardians meets on Wednesdays.
THE CELBRIDGE UNION is situated partly in the county of Kildare, partly in the county of Dublin, and partly in the county of Meath; it contains an area of 86,837 statute acres, and a population of 22,547. The valuation of property rated in the Union amounts to £104,007. There are 15 Electoral Divisions, represented by 19 elected, and 19 ex-officio Guardians. The Workhouse was opened in June, 1841, and affords accommodation for 550 inmates. The Board of Guardians meets on Wednesdays.

the county of Dublin, and partly in the county of Wicklow; it contains
an area of 216,622 statute acres and a population of 44,863. The valuation
of property rated in the Union amounts to £130,532. There are 37
Electoral Divisions, represented by 33 elected, and 30 ex-officio Guardians.
The Workhouse was opened in August, 1841, and affords accommodation for
1,214 inmates. The Board of Guardians meets on Wednesdays.
