Ideas and Initiatives
The total cost of hosting the Special Olympics 2003 is €36m
with a further €20m in products and services.
Every individual, organisation or workforce will
have a chance to get involved in raising money through local fundraising
events and through the Support an Athlete national campaign.
There are a number of interesting and fun ways
to raise money for 2003 Special Olympics World Summer Games.
These include Theme nights, Table/Pub Quiz, Treasure
Hunt, Sponsored Walk/Run/Silence/Fast, Soccer competition, and Barbeque.

Soroptimists International National Project is
to raise funds for the Special Olympics 2003. Both the North
Kildare Branch and the Naas,
Newbridge and District Branch have been involved in fundraising
events in Kildare.
Support an Athlete
The Support an Athlete Programme, sponsored by RTÉ, is the
major public fundraising initiative for the 2003 Special Olympics
World Summer Games.

Games Support an Athlete Programme for just €1,000, you can
ensure that a Special Olympics athlete will have the opportunity
to showcase their talents to the world in a truly world class sporting
event in world class facilities
