An introductory talk will be given by Dr. John Olley, UCD and music performed from the Castletown Manuscript. Following a wine reception there will be classical and traditional music performed by Desmond Earley (harpsichord), Eoin Dillon from Kila (uilleann pipes), Steve Larkin (fiddle) and Desmond Cahalan (guitar) and Daire Bracken (fiddle).

The Castletown Manuscript is a music notebook inscribed ‘Castletown 1815’, it is a collection of dance music, both classical and traditional, including waltzes by Mozart and the Duke of Leinster’s Sarabande. This notebook was possibly compiled by one of Lady Louisa’s young nieces living in the house at that time.

The concert will be recorded in order to test the acoustics in the space.
